Work History:
I have 13ish years in live and corporate events. Thanks to COVID I spent a year working as an account manager for a supply chain company that was contracted with a large manufacturer in the tech industry. I was surprisingly good at this job, but my spouse is military and we had to move. I ended up going back to the company I was with before COVID and stayed there until I quit last year. I was in a supervisory role and it transferred with our PCS moves, and they reached out to me so it made my job search easy. We were also going to move again in a year and the company has positions basically everywhere we might go. I can't do the work anymore due to some medical stuff. So I now volunteer as a Caseworker and I am using my volunteer hours to complete a professional certification with AFCPE/FINRA.
I am now looking to start applying for jobs again. I have some options related to the financial counseling that I am doing, but not all of them will be jobs I can transfer with. My husband causally mentions that I should try working at the shipyard for the civilian admin side of the department he is currently in. I would be something I'd have to work my way up with, but I'm sure I'd like it. The job would also pay more than some of the jobs I am looking at that my financial counseling applies to.
I know I have the ability to go into either field, but deciding has me a bit stuck. It's tempting to go the admin route but I am also about to finish my certification. We do well financially so any income I bring in is extra. I'm very lucky, but the lack of urgency has me stuck between two possibilities.
I am a at a bit of a crossroads and I'm not sure how to pick. I'm thinking of applying for both and going with whichever one bites first.
