Hey all, fellow Australian here.

A friend of mine is about to (finally) become an Australian citizen, and I’d love to get them a thoughtful “congrats” gift to mark the occasion.

The catch: I want to avoid anything too overtly nationalistic (no flag capes or Southern Cross merch). I’m more interested in something meaningful, subtle, or just uniquely Australian in a way that isn’t cheesy or over the top.

They’ve lived and worked here quite a while and already feel pretty at home, so it doesn’t need to be a “welcome to Australia” starter pack - more like a nice way to recognise the milestone.

Open to anything: experiences, food/drink, keepsakes, inside-joke Aussie stuff, etc.

What would you suggest?
