Do any of you know if this feather came from those vultures or if it came from a turkey vulture(I didn't see any with pink heads, do all turkey vultures have pink heads?) My mom said it was a hawk feather even though I said I thought it was a vulture feather. My mom went out to get the feather and those vultures flew on top of a house waiting for my mom to go away, but I've read that black vultures normally stand their ground.

There could have been a turkey vulture somewhere, I've also read that black vultures will follow other vultures, especially turkey vultures.

Ignore how messy the counter looks

Can't take any more pictures of the feather because my mom took it with her and won't be back for a few days and she's going to keep it in the car. Are there any bird feathers illegal to own in Texas? Will my mom get pulled over if a cop sees the feathers? I didn't know there were feathers you couldn't keep until yesterday or today.

Ignore the messy counter. My mom thinks it's a hawk feather but I think it could be a black vulture feather. There was a hawk out there in the back yard that killed a squirrel(Not sure of what species of hawk). Then vultures came(I think they were black vultures and not turkey vultures because no pink head). We're in texas.

If this is a hawk feather like my mom keeps saying it is, do any of you know what species of hawk?

Are bird feathers aloud? I've seen other people post feathers.
