Hello,Que here,I am gonna review the g86 5G after a month of constant usage and picture taking.
1st thing to point out before I start reviewing-this review is based on about the ~2 weeks I got to use the phone actively since it came from the factory with a faulty display and earpiece speaker,which eventually killed the whole phone w/o catastrophic damage to the motherboard,the phone works now flawlessly after I got the earpiece and the screen replaced under warranty for official Motorola parts.
Anyways to the review part we here go
A, This phone has insane cameras for the price of ~220€. Absolute masterpiece of photos and videos. Photos are very sharp,with Incredible details and even in 10x optical zoom mode,the photos are still very usable. Big thumbs up for that. The recording is the best I ever used on a phone. For it being 4K at 30fps,it's very impressive. I even tried to record in 4K at 60fps thru GCAM which it handled fine but it crashed about 3/4 percent of time because the phone isn't exactly made to handle long 4K@60 recordings,for short clips it's okay.
B, The software,oh my god this software is awesome. No lah whatsoever even with ~40 apps open on the background, multitasking and playing music while simultaneously transfering files via OTG. For me who came from a Redmi Note 14 5G with HyperOS 3.0 this firmware was a insane change.
C, The waterproofness and drop protection of MIL-STD810H. Now I drop my phones quite often because of my flimsy hands,but this phone survived all of them,even without a case on, no damage whatsoever. The waterproofness is great too,even tho it was dissasambled by a Motorola certified store,it still holds tight,since they used the original seals. Showers? No problem.
Accidental drop into water? No problem. Pools? No problem. The shower head splashing water on it? No problem.
I tested the waterproofness before it died when it was new and after I got it back from the service centre, nothing changed in terms of it.
D, the screen is gorgeous. I have never used a more beautiful screen than this phones. The 1,5K P-OLED is truly amazing. And the in screen fingerprint is good too. It reads and works fine even thru a privacy matte screen protector (which according to the tech who applied it for me shouldn't work)
E, the battery. This phone is a battery beast. It can host a hotspot on 5G+ data for a whole day and still have 4% at the end of the day. It can also last 2 days even while u have ~8 hours of screen time.
F, The overall rating
I had a Moto g54 5G Power Edition which lets be honest didn't have a strong screen since mine cracked within the first drop I had with it without a screen protector. Then the LCD died 2 days later. But I gave Motorola another shot and good thing I did. This phone is build for everything, literally. Absolute masterpiece of a phone. One more fact,the fact it supports an esim in the price range and dual VoLTE is insane. Overall I can't honestly even hate at this phone even if I wanted to,it's just perfect. Yes it came faulty from the factory (the screen was apperantly dented up from the inside according to the tech who repaired it but it's fine).
