Hey guys so it was my first time taking the MCAT and honestly I felt pretty good about it. I am not here to invalidate anyone else’s experience nor am I one of the 520+ scorers here to complain. I’m in the middle ground 496->510 scorers. I recognize reddit is an echo chamber so I want to see if anyone can echo this sentiment lol.
I scored a 511 on FL6 and left the testing center kinda confident after test day, feeling I had done better than FL6. For C/P, I definitely was anxious to start and may have moved a lot faster than normal through the beginning questions. I regathered myself and told my heart that I was not running from a lion and locked tf in. While there was alot of low yield on C/P, I thought it was pretty good. I usually am scrambling towards the end of my FLs with 4 mins for one passage and I finished c/p with 2 mins left and time to review answers. Even if there were guesses, they were 50/50 always.
CARs was tough though, especially considering one of the passages. I felt confident about most of the other passages but there’s a good chance I didn’t get a single one right on that passage. B/B was also manageable but also low yield stuff galore. Felt the same about it and C/P. Where even if there was guesses, they were very educated.
Psych felt like FL6 psych difficulty, 11 flagged for 50/50s, praying it goes my way lol. Had time remaining for all sections which is rare! I went on reddit after to see what everyone else thought and everyone is saying it went terrible. I guess I make this post to try and gain a perspective of those who left the test feeling good. The odds I get more than +-2 of 511 are probably low but we’ll see. Is my feeling good a false hope / naive? How did those who felt good about their test in the past perform when they got their scores??? I’m contemplating scheduling my retake just in case.
TLDR: I felt good about the test and am unsure about how to feel given how bad people said they did. Did people who felt good about their test day of, do as expected/better when they got their score?
