PSLF PAYE income recertification on 5/28/26
I am roughly 8 years into my 10 years of PSLF. My income has increased markedly over last 4 years. I am set to finally have to do income recertification. I did a wet signature of the income recertification and received letter back recently, basically saying if I do not do anything I will remain on same payment plan I was/have been on (PAYE). With interest my student loans are around $400k. I have really only been making payments of about $450/month for last few years. I am confused at what I can expect my payments to go up too if I no longer have partial financial hardship. It is my understanding I will remain on PAYE but payment will go up to some cap. I did consolidate my loans several years ago so I know that may alter what my standard monthly payment cap is (amortized over 30 vs 10 years).
