Can someone please explain how the uncontested and contested possessions don’t equal the total?? This is josh lindsay’s stats from the weekend as an example

I looked into a reddit post from 11 years ago about this same topic and possession differences were nowhere as big of a difference back then; eg over multiple games the difference between contested/uncontested and total was only 5 or less over multiple games. Now it’s just one game with lindsay and the difference is 7??

I understand disposals and possessions are different, but whether you dispose of the ball without possessing or possess the ball without disposing it, wouldn’t it still be either contested or uncontested??

EDIT: For anyone still lost, I think the best point is you can have uncontested possessions, but you can’t have uncontested disposals. Kick ins and new boundary rules even though they are uncontested disposals, they’re not uncontested possessions because you get given the possession.

For anyone really interested in how contested possessions actually work, a fellow redditor posted this link and it definitely explains a lot
