Well what a revelation that was! Changed my chain and both sprockets in my 2017 650 today after 24k miles with old one. Not an easy job as a first time job, but learned a lot along the way and will be much easier next time.
It has absolutely transformed how the bike rides and sounds - it’s incredible.
I’m recently back from a 2000 miles trip to the Vosges in France and it was when en route I realised how knackered my chain was. It had tight and very loose spots, was hesitant at town speeds, loud and clunky and generally buggered! Just wish I had realised before I went as the motorway transit miles were not good for it!
If in doubt, change and feel like you’re riding a new bike!
