Hi All. Just thought I would share my experience with 3 Adderall IR generics after being on the medication for a couple years. I am hoping this might help someone struggling.
Also a side note: all these generics I recieved are from Walgreens. I take 10 mg ir x 3 but have had prescriptions with 20 mg pills I split. I now get Teva only filled.
Teva IR 10 mg - Best So Far
Pro: This one is my favorite but it is not perfect. It is absolutely the most potent and my focus is strongest on this. Toss up between this and glenmark for least amount of sides which is usually just jaw tightness and colder hands.
Con: It is the shortest lasting as I barely get 4 hours of it. This is kind of a pro as I can always get to bed on time. I can see this being a con if you only can take 2 doses per day. I crash the hardest on this medication and even on lighter days need to take 5 mg as a bridge to not feel like crap. Splitting the oval pills is okay but not best.
Glenmark IR 20 mg / 10 mg - Pretty Decent
Pros: Similar to focus to Teva but maybe a bit less drive or physical push. I would say the pill is slightly gentler than Teva and lasts about 4.5 hours. I was able to split these pills by far the best.
Cons: Maybe not quite as motivating or stimulating as Teva but good enough. I would be okay with Glenmark in a pinch.
Malinckrodt IR 20 mg / 10 mg - Terrible
Pros: They are easy to swallow and that is the only nice thing I can say about them.
Cons: They are absolutely less effective mg per mg to Teva and Glenmark. To make Malinckrodt similar to Teva I had to take 15 mg instead of 10 mg. Have fun doing that because they split terribly and crumble into dust. They last the longest at around 5ish hours and gave me insomnia. Sides are also the worst with frequent restroom visits, chilly hands, and a tense jaw.
