So I’ve been dashing for about a year and I’ve only had a handful of times where I was a bit hesitant to be where the orders took me. Never had a close call with a dog or anything like that. Yet. So today while on a shop and delivery at Target I walked by some pepper spray they had for sell. Now I’m a 6’2” guy so it’s not like I scream perfect victim to someone or something who has ill intent. But I’m not super scrappy and I’ve never been in a fight so I don’t know how I would do in a situation like that so seeing the pepper spray I thought that would be perfect to carry around. Honestly more so for dogs than anything. I definitely feel a bit more comfortable having that to keep in my pocket in case I end up in a place where a little added, non lethal protection would go a long way in calming my nerves.
Just wanted to make this post to encourage all dashers to pick up a little can of pepper spray. I only paid $10 and having something is better than nothing. Especially something that can stop someone or something in their tracks and give you a chance to get the heck out of dodge.
Any other ways yall are staying safe out there?
