Hi guys! I was that one guy who found a random Blaberus craniifer in his Sara Gecko’s enclosure. Upon identifying him and learning that they are immensely social creatures, I decided I would do my best to capture him.

Success! I managed to secure him after no small amount of courage, a trashcan, bathtub, and usage of one of my fruit fly cups. I will be returning him to the exotic pet shop where he had stowed away from so that he may rejoin his kin and colony. I’m sure he has a fantastic tale to tell them.

Thanks again for your help and support!

EDIT: he has successfully been returned to the pet shop from which he had stowed away. He is now home with his kin.

Hey all, you might remember me from a previous post in this subreddit, the guy who found a Death’s Head (blaberus craniifer) randomly in their gecko’s enclosure. So far I’ve come to the conclusion that I will try to capture him and return him to the pet store which had accidentally given him to me as a nymph…one small issue.

He has been evading my eyes and capture for quite some time. My current plan of attack right now is to entice him into a cup with some food he’d like, then close the lid over it so I can return it…so would grapes be a good meal to bait him in? Or perhaps a better option?

I’m still mildly afraid of him which is why I’m not straight up grabbing him, but any advice is appreciated, as I don’t want to hurt him considering he’s been (from what I’ve seen) a polite, if unwanted, guest in my gecko’s enclosure.

Regardless, any advice is appreciated!
