Curious if anyone ever damaged their big toe capsule.

Was training for my first 50k. Was doing great until I stubbed my toe and kept running on it. One day I was obviously in a lot of pain and then ran 10 miles on it. Idiotic in retrospect.

Toe along with half my foot swole up for 2 weeks. Took a month to be able to run again and now I’m slowly ramping back up. Still got a collagen bump under the joint that hurts if I put a ton of pressure on it but I think that’ll go away.

Anyways. Signed up for another 50k at the end of August. Curious what the recovery time has been for people who’ve experienced this and how likely the injury is to come back assuming I learned my lesson and won’t run on an obviously injured foot anymore.
