Day 2: Looking for a little motivation

Was happy to find this community in a dark time. Struggled with a lower disc injury in my back for years, but for the past month have had sciatica flare up so bad in my legs that I’ve been unable to walk or stand for more than a few minutes at a time. It’s been a month of staring at the ceiling in excruciating pain, earning no money, and forcing myself to rest. Have seen little to no improvement despite trying pretty much everything, and the only part of my life I haven’t cleaned up over the past few years is my nicotine intake. I’m a Zyn tin every two days type, tried quitting a few times previously, but now I know that nicotine can slow healing/make nerve injuries worse I’m going cold turkey.
On day two now. The hardest part is just the boredom. I’m already so mentally worn out from this extended period off my feet, having that little boost of dopamine popping one in is hard to curb. Any tips? I’m trying to resist the urge to snack and stick to my strict diet. Diet sodas are a God-sent. May have to try some mints or lifesavers. Anyways, thanks for the encouragement in the community. Been helpful to read through some other people’s experiences.

I think losing big Al was our biggest loss going into the season. I can’t help but believe he could have helped us at least through this series. What we needed was an answer for Embiid and shot-making when others are cold. Al always did a good job making things tough on Embiid defensively, and whenever we were desperate for a basket you knew Al was good for a motivational boost by knocking down a couple threes and rallying the team back. I know everyone was of the mindset that he had every right to go after “one more ring” in GS after this team got broken up, but I was always bitter that he couldn’t have stuck it out just to see what the season looked like. I know there’s a lot of factors involved to our collapse, but man I would have loved to see how he could have helped these guys.
Anyways, I hope Jaylen can log off the internet for a bit. I hate the extra resentment he’s stirring up. Can’t say I’d be heart-broken at seeing a Giannis-Tatum team in the future.
