I had my decompression surgery on April 9th. On the 22nd, my dr said he didn’t like how red it was so he put me on antibiotics. I ended up in the ER because it got worse. It suddenly started weeping. They admitted me immediately and another neurosurgeon surgeon at the hospital, told me to prepare for surgery the very next day. I was not mentally prepared for a second surgery. So I had it done, the infection went underneath the muscle but didn’t go further. This time my incision is much longer and they shaved off way more of my hair. I’m really struggling knowing that I’m basically starting all over with recovery.
Just wondering if anyone else experienced a second surgery due to infection? My dr said it just happens sometimes. I didn’t even do anything or go anywhere. I felt like my husband and I were taking good care of it. 😑
