I recently had a problem with some hackers who got hold of my passwords and tried to steal my Steam account, email, etc., but I managed to nip the problem in the bud by changing my passwords and the Gmail account linked to my Steam account.
The problem is that I received an account alert and Steam automatically replaced the new Gmail address I’d set with the one the hackers had put in, probably because they thought it was my original email or something.
I tried to prove that it really is me and change the email to one of my own, but I get a message saying, ‘To contact Steam Support, you need to verify your Gmail address.’ As you can imagine, I can’t do this because it’s a Gmail account I don’t have access to.
I’ve tried several times to send an email explaining the situation in detail, but they always send me the same reply: “If you need customer service or technical support for Valve games or Steam, please go to the Valve Support Site at steampowered . com and submit a support incident.
-VALVe"
Which is of no use to me because it keeps asking me to verify the Gmail account I don’t have access to :(
Could someone tell me what to do or let me know if there’s a customer service number I can call for help?
