I am Dming for a new party of 1st timers and im fairly inexperienced as a dm myself. The problem is my party wants me to make their decisions for them by creating a movie like campaign where the only choice they have is the next quest I have for them instead of adventuring. Is this normal and what do I need to do to help them?

My experience with my long time dm was we had options for everything we did not him just saying go here and do this.
