[LFG][Europe][Online][Codex] Draw Steel - Players & Directors Wanted! Building a flexible group for working adults who want more time to play TTRPGs and aren’t able to commit upfront to a huge campaign or a group of internet strangers!

 

Hey all! I'm looking to put together a group to try out Draw Steel. I'm a forever DM looking to sit on the player side of the table while I learn the ropes - but fair warning, I'll probably end up in the Director's chair after a few sessions!

I’ve struggled to find a Draw Steel group in the European timezone so decided to create my own post to bring people together.

MAIN GOAL: I’m looking to set up a group for adults who have the usual real-life responsibilities which means we’re very unlikely to have a year long campaign.

What that means in practice:

• A low-pressure group for seeing if we like playing with each other (we are strangers on the internet, after all). I’ve had GREAT experiences finding people in these groups, some of which are now my best friends. I’ve also had… colorful experiences. No promises this will be a long term thing.
• While commitment to agreed schedules are important, the idea is to have a flexible schedule rather than expecting everyone to commit up front for months.
• The plan is for adventures to span 2-3x sessions only, usually 2-3hr sessions. Maximum bang for your buck when it comes to flexible scheduling.

 

Ok, with that disclaimer out of the way…

Availability:

• Monday–Thursday nights, 7pm GMT+1 onwards. (2-3 hr sessions)
• Saturday or Sunday evenings.

The Setup:

• Codex required, so we've got the full rules to hand.
• Discord for voice (no camera requirement, planning this to be voice only)

Experience:

• Some TTRPG background would be great, but Draw Steel newcomers are absolutely welcome.
• I’m very new to DS, but have the rule books and quick to learn.
• I have lots of experience with 5e. I DM’d two campaigns which ran 1.5years respectively, and I’ve been in two other long-term campaigns as a player.

General:

• LGBTQIA+ friendly
• Adults only. I’m a guy in his 30s so only looking for 18+ players in this group, please.
• Not looking for NSFW. Adult themes completely fine, but not seeking out an NSFW group.
• Depending on level of interest, we might end up with more than one group. That’s great! I’m aiming for the initial group to be 4-6 players (incl. director).
• European timezones preferred. Exact date/time of sessions to be determined by the group, but the expectation is it will be somewhere around 7pm GMT+1 Mon-Thurs, or Sat/Sun.
