A cyberattack on the San Diego Community College District network was thwarted over the weekend, according to messages from the district.

While the previous attack was thwarted, another attack on Instructure, parent company to Canvas, the districts platform for instruction was breached and a ransom was demanded.

Students at multiple colleges including City College have been affected. SDCCD students are encouraged to changed passwords.

The full extent of the damage has not been determined as the attack is ongoing.

I recently interviewed and toured for a job working for UCSD’s upcoming sports broadcast team.

They are moving conferences and said their broadcasting game needed to elevate to comply with the conference rules that every sport be broadcast.

Most games will be shown on ESPN+ and are run by students, but they said they will need a bunch of freelancers to help fill positions before the semesters begins.
