Flying BOS to LHR and onto Crete in the near future. I booked my flight through the Chase travel reward portal for a point multiplier. I just snagged economy seat seats at the time with the intention of watching to see if costs would decrease for a premium economy or business over time.
After not seeing options for upgrade pop-up for a while, I called British Airways, who told me that because I had booked my ticket through a third-party, that I would not be eligible for an upgrade by phone or through their email offers. I know that sometimes some people have said that they can also get last-minute upgrades at the ticket counter. I may arrive early to try this, but was wondering if my third-party reservation would also make it impossible for me to get upgraded by asking the ticket counter or if anyone has had success with this in the past?
