Is revealing that Strahd is a woman later on in the campaign too much?
I'd love to hear y'all's thoughts on this idea. I want to reveal to my players that Strahd is a woman later on down the line. When she was younger she pulled a Mulan in order to help her father conquer. Rahadin, the brides, and maybe some other people who are close know this, but the general populace doesn't. I was thinking of revealing it in the Tome at some point. 3 of my 4 players told me they wished Strahd was a woman so I thought maybe this would be a way to change it without retconning a lot (they've met Strahd multiple times). Is this a bad idea? I think it could work but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.
Edit: forgot to mention that Strahd would drop the act during / after dinner
