I'm not even sure how to elegantly put this into words. I feel like I'm overthinking how I play games these days more than I actually play them and it's sapping my joy for gaming.
"Is this the optimal handheld for this game?", "Maybe I'd prefer a bigger screen", "I should buy a separate device just for this system", "let me setup this new handheld for about 3 hours" (just to never play it again), "let me setup this new frontend" (for absolutely no reason), "let me tweak all these settings for every new system I decide to play so I feel like I'm experiencing the game in the most optimal way"
And don't even get me started on the "vibe" part of emulation. Idk how else to explain this but playing GBA games on a device like the Miyoo Mini just has a better "vibe" than playing them on something like a Thor (or other android handhelds).
I have a Thor. It's the perfect device. It can play every game I want. So why am I not playing them? Why do I feel like I need to find the "perfect" way to experience games?
I have the urge to buy a new device and I don't even know why.
I might just be losing my marbles at this point. Can anyone relate?
