Hey everyone,

I built a small browser-based sample picker specifically for the KO II

The idea is pretty simple: I wanted picking samples to feel faster, more relaxed, and less like doing admin work in a DAW. You choose a local folder with .wav files, the app indexes them in the browser, and then you can quickly browse, preview, search, and assign samples to slots. When you are done, you can export your selected samples as a ZIP.

It is keyboard-friendly, runs locally in Chrome/Edge, and does not upload your files anywhere. It is still an early prototype, but it already works well for quickly going through a big sample folder and building a focused selection for the KO II.

You can click a category on the right side, and it will automatically put that category name into the search field, so you are basically browsing and filling that specific slot range.

Scrolling up and down usually keeps you near similar sounds, because samples from the same folder/path tend to sit next to each other. If you hit the random button / left arrow, it jumps somewhere else in the list, which feels more like rolling the dice and often lands you in a completely different folder with a different kind of sound.

I would love if a few people tested it and told me what feels good, what is confusing, and what would make it more useful.

Small disclaimer for transparency:

This app was 100% vibe-coded over a few days as a hobby project. I do work professionally as a software developer with 5+ years of experience, but this is not a polished commercial product or anything like that.

It is free, no strings attached, and runs locally in your browser. I built it because I personally find it useful and wanted to share it with others who might enjoy the same workflow. If the “vibe-coded hobby project” part makes you uncomfortable, no worries at all, just don’t use it.

would love to hear your thoughts on this cheers 🍻
