Things to do and safety

I have gotten a job in Sheffield and am looking to move into pearlworks since it is very close to the train station but having no knowledge about Sheffield and feeling that it was a bit unsafe for a woman to move in by herself, with I admit very limited experience of the city.

I am wanting to change that opinion with some help.

Redditers of Sheffield please help and tell me what you think about Sheffield and what I can do by myself.
