Hello! I’m traveling in May 2027 with my husband and 4 kids (ages 8, 7, 5 and 1) and trying to book before the devaluation!

I booked the HR Waikiki beach in Oahu for 5 nights and I was thinking of adding GH Kauai for 3.
Is that amount of nights in Kauai sufficient? Should I extend Kauai to 4, and/or take any away from Oahu?

I considered HR Maui but having the beach and the access to walk around Waikiki seemed more appealing for the kids (and my ADHD husband lol). The HR Maui beach doesn’t look like there’s any sand?
Side note: our kids are accustomed to traveling multiple cities so I’m not concerned about one island hop, although I would limit it to just the one.

Also, other than sitting on a chill beach, what’s fun and safe to do with kids those age in Kauai? I’d love to hike but not sure how feasible it would be. I don’t think our 1 year old would be walking by then…
