My Experience with Data Annotation’s UI for Acceptance
*If my exact situation has been addressed or answered already then please forgive me. I’m new to DA and also Reddit.*
My experience is a bit weird and I’ve been trying to fully understand it myself, but as I’m quickly learning lol DA is pretty much a guessing game with only a few signs that point somewhere.
I applied for the starter assessment on April 11, and then 5 days later on April 16, my dashboard updated. It gave me a list of qualifications to now take (e.g., Core, physics, biology, coding, etc), and I ended up completing the core and UX Design qualifications. The core one displayed as a qualification to unlock $20/hr tasks. 13 days later on April 29 I finally noticed my dashboard change again. This time, the list of qualifications I did and didn’t take were all gone, and the only thing showing was a new type of core qualification (displaying as $25-30/hr). I completed that too and have since been waiting for my dashboard to change again, if it will.
After I completed this second special core qualification my dash has been stuck displaying the same test I’ve already taken with the bubble: “You take an additional qualification test”. My funds history shows DA received my test so it’s not that the site didn’t register it being completed or anything. When I research this issue, I’m told that DA’s UI on their website is state-based and not live tracking. In other words, my dashboard won’t flip until the human reviewer has switched the state of my profile from “applicant” to “contractor”. I’m currently on day 13 since I took the last qualification test. I’ve seen that it typically takes 1-4 weeks for specialists to get accepted. However with how discrete DA acts when it comes to getting accepted or not, I don’t really have much hope of getting in until I finally see it with my own eyes lmao.
I’ve been researching my situation deeply and even though I find some answers, nothing feels rock solid. Thought I would share my experience in case anyone has any insight or finds this helpful.
