Muslim reverts in Maldives
Is it just me, or do Muslim reverts in Maldives take Islam way too extremely? Don’t get me wrong, preaching and following it the way it should be there’s nothing wrong with that but it’s always the extremely reverted Muslims that judge the hardest or have the worst opinions on religious activities.
I’ve been to many Islamic countries, and Islam feels much more welcoming in those places, but in Maldives it’s a whole different story. The ones that don’t take religion seriously are the ones who are the most welcoming and caring here. It’s not just reverts that are like this, it’s most of the ones that, yk, did a lot of sins and fell back to God. Those people fall in the same category.
I would say religion in Maldives is a joke. 100% Muslim, but most of the younger preachers tend to be extremely harsh towards people who don’t know much about Islam or people who make mistakes. It’s always the women who wear niqab that criticize others for what they’re wear, like they didn’t wear crop tops a few years back. Like damn, can’t someone try to peacefully encourage someone to get into Islam?
