Struggling to close sales
Hi everyone, as the title says, I am struggling to close any sales. I work for a speciality coffee roastery on a small island which caters a lot to tourists (we’re currently the only roastery) and I need to gain large clients quickly as our margins are pretty tight. I am mainly trying to sell into hotels, as they go through huge volumes.
I’ve been having lots of meetings and coffee tastings with food and beverage managers, people are really loving our product and company but nothing seems to be closing. I don’t know whether it’s me, whether it’s the fact that many of these hotels have contracts already in place, too many people that a ‘yes’ has to go through etc. but I’m at the point where I think I need to change my strategy.
For some context this is my first time in a sales position, and it is my partners company, I have a really bubbly personality love to chat and make conversation, but can lack confidence and direction in certain areas. I have tried starting with smaller clients and I seem to have the same issue where I come in hot than things fizzle even with follow ups and more conversations.
I could really use some tips on how to close, or other strategies, differentiating my product, creating urgency, my approach or things I may be missing etc. any help would be greatly appreciated!
