Moving from Dallas to Houston
My lease ends August 31, 2026 and I’m considering Houston as my next place of residence. I grew up an hour away from Dallas but moved to Dallas after college. I remember touring a university in Houston and I LOVED it so much that it is became my goal to have a career and establish myself there by the time I retire. Due to some financials, I ended up not going to HBU or UH, which I regret because I think it would’ve been great for networking.
Anyways, what should know in general? where are the ”safest” areas? Where are the walkable areas? I have a senior cat so a studio or 1B1B would suffice but how are the prices? I will not sacrifice my safety for cheap housing. Will I need a roommate or more than one? If so, how are rental home prices? Hows the food? The culture? Employment opportunities? Outdoor activities? Literally anything.
