Help Required - Large Save game needed for Mod Testing

Hi All,

As the title suggests im looking for a large save game - ideally population in excess of 13k to stress test my mod and check performance - my largest save is only 6k.

If anyone would be willing to share a save file that would be much appreciated.

Hi All,

Many moons ago i mentioned i was going to work on a calculator for COI - not just a designer but an analysis tool which can interpret live data from in game. I have been testing this with my late game save and boy is my factory inefficient. Anyways enough about my lack of in game skills...

Its called Captain's Log for now but that is temporary - Here are the current features and some future planned. I'm hoping to get some feedback from the community on whether there is a desire for this (and any wants) or i can happily just use it for me and my son.

u/Captain_Marek if you read this I'm going to be honest this is my very first foray into mods and whilst all the mod does is read only - i want to make sure im doing right by the devs and the game - please let me know if you have any concerns.

Captain's Log: Current Features

  • Live local dashboard (In Browser)
    • Reads data from the running Captain of Industry save via a local mod export.
    • Auto-refreshes from game export data, currently around every 10 seconds.
  • Factory-wide product balance
    • Shows each product/resource with:
      • Can Produce: maximum production capacity.
      • Needed: productive recipe demand.
      • Can Dispose: flare, vent, dump, injection or sink capacity.
      • Net Supply: production minus productive demand.
      • Current Net: current production/use based on machine utilisation.
  • Status interpretation
    • Flags products as:
      • Surplus
      • Shortfall
      • Balanced
      • External input required
      • Disposal OK
      • Disposal capacity shortfall
      • Capacity OK, check flow
      • Pollution generated
      • Overflow disposal covered
  • Disposal-aware logic
    • Handles pure waste streams like exhaust differently from useful products with optional overflow flaring.
    • Example: Light oil flaring no longer appears as a disposal problem if the real issue is productive demand shortfall.
  • Product drilldown panel
    • Click any product to see:
      • Producers
      • Productive consumers
      • Disposal/sink/venting paths
      • Machine recipe, state, and utilisation.
  • Machine-level diagnostics
    • Detects real input/output buffer issues from game data.
    • Can identify things like:
      • Blocked output buffer: Iron
      • Blocked output buffer: Exhaust
      • Missing input buffer: Medium oil
      • Output full but buffer state unclear/timing-related.
  • Input/output buffer visibility
    • Exports and reads actual machine buffer data:
      • product
      • quantity
      • capacity
      • usable capacity
      • full/empty state
      • port/logistics flags.
  • Search and filtering
    • Search by product/resource name.
    • Filter by status, including shortfall, external input required, disposal issues, pollution, surplus, and balanced.
  • Sortable table
    • Clickable column headers for sorting product balance views.
  • Existing-save support
    • Intended as an analysis/export tool rather than a gameplay-changing mod, so it can be added to existing saves when configured correctly.

Planned Future Features

  • Buffer demand view
    • Show which machines are waiting for a selected product and how much they can currently accept.
    • Example: “Uranium rod needed by reactor buffer: 8 rods.”
  • Machine issue list
    • Dedicated view of all machines needing attention, sorted by severity:
      • blocked outputs
      • missing inputs
      • paused machines
      • no recipe assigned
      • flow/check warnings.
  • Production chain tracing
    • Click a shortfall product and trace upstream dependencies.
    • Example: “Light oil shortfall is caused by medium oil shortage, which is caused by crude oil refining bottleneck.”
  • Power/electricity analysis
    • Add electricity generation, consumption, grid load, generator status, and power shortfall visibility.
  • Transport and flow diagnostics
    • Identify when capacity exists but flow is not reaching the consumer/disposal machine.
    • Potentially highlight pipe, belt, port, storage, or logistics bottlenecks.
  • Storage and inventory view
    • Include warehouse, tank, loose storage, and fluid storage levels.
    • Show stockpile trend and buffer reserve.
  • Trend/history tracking
    • Save snapshots over time and show whether a product is getting better or worse.
    • Example: “Diesel net supply has been negative for 6 minutes.”
  • Recipe override/planning mode
    • Let users model “what if I add 2 more refineries?” or “what if I change this recipe?”
  • Critical-path / bottleneck ranking
    • Rank the biggest production issues by impact.
    • Example: “Medium oil is currently limiting 5 downstream products.”
  • Export/share report
    • Generate a shareable summary for community help/debugging.
  • Cleaner UI polish
    • Icons for products and machine types.
    • Severity chips and row colours.
    • Collapsible sections.
    • Better mobile/tablet layout.
  • Mod configuration
    • Adjustable refresh rate.
    • Toggle detailed buffer exports.
    • Choose export folder.
    • Option to anonymise save data before sharing.
