Hi everyone,

I’m looking into UIC’s MS in Biostatistics, Concentration in Health Data Science and wanted to hear from current students, alumni, or anyone familiar with the program.

How was your experience in the program overall?

How would you rate it compared with online programs or other in-person biostatistics/data science programs?

Would you recommend it for international students?

I’m especially interested in how well it supports people who want to go on to:

  • a PhD,
  • a career in biomedical or health research,
  • health analytics,
  • bioinformatics or neuroinformatics.

Also, for anyone in the Health Data Science concentration specifically:

  • How rigorous is the coursework?
  • How strong is the programming/statistics training?
  • Are there good research or RA opportunities?
  • How good are the job outcomes after graduation?

Thank you!
