Information regarding performing apology for leaving guru diksha
Namaste everyone. I am 21 years old, and I took two online dikshas — the first one in June 2025 and the second one in March 2026.
In the first case, the guru left/disconnected from me. In the second case, I myself left the guru, and I feel that decision was made with immaturity on my part. I sincerely regret any mistakes, disrespect, or offenses I may have committed knowingly or unknowingly. Mentally, I have already apologized sincerely to both Gurujis.
My concern is:
What do the shastras and tantra traditions say about leaving or breaking connection with a diksha guru?
Does this create serious papa karma or guru dosha?
If someone sincerely repents and continues normal japa, prayer, and spiritual practice with devotion, can those mistakes still be cleansed over time?
Is there any prayaschitta (atonement) traditionally recommended for such situations?
I am asking this with humility and genuine concern, not to criticize any guru or sampradaya. I only want to understand the dharmic and spiritual perspective correctly.
