Got my first bike, a Royal Enfield Classic 350, about a month ago. Had first service done yesterday at ~500 km.

After service I noticed the clutch free play was almost gone and the clutch felt noticeably harder than before. It rained heavily when I came back from the service center so I didn’t go back.

Today I thought I’d try adjusting it myself after watching YouTube tutorials and the official RE clutch adjustment video.

Problem is... the video somehow didn’t clearly show which nut does what 😭

I started adjusting both:

- the engine-side clutch cable adjuster

- the lever-side adjuster (it was very tight, still is, I can't move it much)

At one point I completely messed it up and the clutch lever lost all spring feel and became super loose. Took me almost 2 hours of trial and error to understand which direction tightens/loosens the cable.

Eventually I got it back to a point where:

- clutch feels almost like before service

- gears shift okay

- bike rides normally

- slight free play is present again

But now I’m overthinking whether I accidentally misadjusted something.

One thing I noticed after a 15 min ride:

The engine felt slightly hotter than usual.

Could that just be placebo because I’m hyper-aware after touching the clutch setup for the first time? Or can slightly wrong clutch adjustment actually make the engine run hotter?

No clutch slipping that I can clearly notice.

Bike accelerates normally.

Would appreciate advice from experienced RE owners 🙏
