Operation Inconceivable: World War 2 after the Polish-Soviet War
So just in case the textboxes on the maps didn't make it clear, this timeline is set after Possible History's video on "What if the USSR won the Polish-Soviet War?". Specifically, on the idea that Britain and France basically bribe the shit outta Germany until they declare war on the USSR. While he was skeptical of the German Republic ever doing this, I went with them going for it. Because I will never make a map where the NSDAP takes over. They can die.
Either way, once the war's underway, the Entente try to tell Germany to stop winning so they can stay weak. Germany says "screw you" and beats them down. Realistically, could they ever go this far? Hell. No. The name of the scenario, however, kinda explains why they did get so far.
Operation Inconceivable. Much like people making timelines where, for some reason, during an Operation Unthinkable timeline, the Soviets conquer almost all of Europe, I decided to full-send it for the funnies. Germany absolutely kicks ass here, but on the other side of it, they're barely clinging onto stability and having to balance stabilising some of the least stable new nations in Europe (Baltic Union, Corsica, etc) with keeping themselves from imploding and falling to extremism on either side.
As for the former Entente, only really Francoist Spain, France, and Britain are actively in it. Italy's a part in name-only, and the rest have pretty much separated themselves aside from having open diplomatic channels rather than complete cutoff. They're doing worse than the Europact, but that's not exactly a mark in favour of Germany's club.
Not shown here is what happened with America, Japan, and the Pacific. In short, America still beats Japan to within an inch of its life. Following the total collapse of the Soviet Union, the Chinese Communist Party ended up breaking up due to a total lack of support and a general plummet in morale at the end of the vanguard nation. Due to that, China ended up unified behind the Kuomintang (although Chiang Kai-Shek ended up dead in 1943). America and China are the leading nations in the Pacific States Treaty Organisation, a collection of pro-democracy nations around the Pacific Ocean.
On top of the PSTO, there is also an "African Union", an organisation of post-colonial African nations such as Algeria, Cameroon, Angola, etc. Most of Africa's borders have been somewhat redrawn, mostly through America, but with heavy consultation of the locals. The entire continent was decolonised at once, and about half of it ended up in the Union while the other half is fighting them. Not great, not terrible, about what you could expect from an unexpected upending of the world order and a continent-wide power vacuum.
Overall, there's so many fires to fight in this world that it is downright shocking that most nations are still standing, much less functioning enough to maintain others around them. Somehow, the 1950s passed without a major war, and they're entering into the 1960s with no small amount of trepidation. If they can survive this decade, tensions are gonna start plummeting as the new generations that grew up in this world start getting their votes on the ballot and people into office. However...all it'd really take is one big war in the right place and at the right time for things to start going sideways.
edit: did not expect to get a good post award for some of my Classic Big Germany Bullshit™, but my thanks to the sub all the same
edit 2: someone pointed out the images were compressed to hell and back, so here's an imgur that's uncompressed: https://imgur.com/a/xpMWKq0
