I am new to the game and I did a mission where you go to this planet to talk to a governor. I have the Season Pass 1 and the Arbites guy with his cyborg dog were there.
My questions are: If I didn't have the season pass, these characters just wouldn't be present at this spot? And if I played past this point and then bought and "enabled" the DLC, would my story progression by soft-locked out of interacting with that DLC content until I start the game over again on a new save?
And are the other DLCs (season pass 2) expected to function like this? If I progress too far into the plot and then buy whatever new Necron expansion, will I have to start the game over to get to play that stuff?
I don't really know what progressing thru "Acts" means in this game. To make an analogy to other games, is this like a Fallout/Elder Scrolls DLC where you can just add it into your game and go off to the Shivering Isles or do the Operation Anchorage stuff at any time, or is the DLC content so thoroughly woven into the main narrative structure that you can really only experience the DLC buy starting the game from the beginning.
