What's written media like in your world?
I feel like this is the kind of thing I might take for granted in a world if I'm not careful, it's hard to imagine a world that doesn't have any of it, although it would be interesting to see it explored.
Does your world even have it? Is it only some cultures that have it? What's the level of literacy of your populations? Is the knowledge of literacy something that is gatekept by the rich and/or powerful? Is it only non-fiction stuff that gets written (work contracts, shipping inventories, guest lists etc) or are there fictional written stories in your world? What do people write on? Paper, clay, wood, stone?
Inquiring minds want to know!
