hi all, i'm a young coxswain with 3-4 months of experience and already been to three or four races with my crew. they always prefer it when i constantly talk to them in races and make them focus on the rowing. but most of the time (especially when i run out of stuff to say), i find myself repeating 'legs!' 'push!' repeatedly, which they do not like when said way too much. i do tell them how many meters they have left or yell for more pushing if there's a boat catching up to us, but otherwise i just need more to say than just 'push' or 'use those legs', etc. is there any more varied motivation that the rowers here find helpful from coxes during a race, or any fellow coxswains who could give some suggestions? thanks :)
