Ran into a 2 month old American Standard throwing sensor/board code. We replaced the air handler and kept the condenser(410A). Sensor failed, and upon replacement, everything's fine. My previous employer/supply house in another state mentioned carrying extra sensors as a diagnostic tool. I previously worked for a Lennox dealer, so theirs are easier to deal with. The mitigation board is an external with plug and play. Should we carry extra sensors for diagnosis?
Context: The blower was running 24/7 with the thermostat detached from the base. I figured a mitigation issue initially. We have 5Vdc at board outgoing. It was a sensor issue. Upon sensor change, it fixed itself.
Any tricks or tips for dealing with A2L or mitigation boards. Senior tech tried to jump the board and bypass because it's 410A.
