American Express has a really nice promotion where they offer 170k or 70k bonus points. The cards can be canceled after making 1 purchase (€1 min) per month for 12 months. So basically, they can't be canceled earlier than after 13 months.
You can use these points immediately for example:
- paying off bills
- bol.com gift cards
Or even better:
- saving points to book cheap flight tickets (award tickets)
What do the cards cost?
- Platinum €65 per month (can be canceled monthly), but you need to meet the spending requirement first
- Gold €20 per month (can be canceled monthly), but you need to meet the spending requirement
Note: there are income requirements for both cards! You can cancel the cards after meeting the requirements without problems.
Conditions for the 170/70 points:
- Platinum €1 per month spending for 12 months
- Gold €1 per month spending for 12 months
How do I quickly reach the spending requirement?
- what worked for me was often going to Jumbo, filling up gas, booking flights, and hotels (you earn points with this too)
