Yeah i’m bored, i don’t know what else to talk about.
Something that’s always kinda fascinated me is thinking about the planets of fictional worlds we only really have maps of. I’ve kind of wondered what the actual PLANET that Mekkan is located on was like. We know there are other continents, but how big IS the planet actually? Because of the latest comic, we know that it has 4 moons, but i’m wondering if they’re really physical moons or just representations of the masks. Each of the 4 masks represents one of the moons, but again, are they PHYSICAL moons you can go to? Using the logic that the planet would be a similar size to earth, having 4 moons of those sizes would cause the orbits of both the planet and the moons to mess up and become highly elliptical over time, possibly leading to collisions. To fix this, the optimal solution would simply be to increase the mass of the planet and change the orbits of the moons to where they dont effect each others orbits. This is why I believe that the planet Mekkan is located on is larger than Earth. If the moons the masks represent ARE physical moons you can go too, than this would make sense. Now, I know that 99% of the side sketches aren’t canon, but looking at the first image (the one where Laura is on one of the moons) it’s safe to assume Laura is on the moon that is on the far left in the 3rd image, as it is the closest to the planet it appears. In the image, we can see a glimpse of the planet, and the southeastern part of Mekkan. If i remember correctly, it took 2 weeks in the original parts of the comic to travel from Wreathwood (the town on the far southwest end of the Human territory) to the Basidian Islands. Using average merchant/passenger vessel speeds of around the same level as Eric’s ship, which is about 4 to 6 knots, they were easily traveling anywhere from 110-168 miles per day. This would put the distance from Wreathwood to the Basidian islands easily to be at least 2000 miles minimum, which is LARGER than the United States from its northermost point to its southernmost point. This would mean that Mekkan itself is absolutely HUGE, possibly being only slightly smaller than EURASIA. This would also make sense as Mekkan has a very diverse climate. So to me at least, it isn’t out of the possibility that the planet Mekkan is located on is a Super-Earth, I don’t know, what do yall think, i’m bored. ;)
