Nausea for 2 years long
Reddit, I'm asking for help, I don't know where to go anymore. I am a man, I am 26 years old. 2 years ago (in 2024), nausea and vomiting began, at first I thought I was poisoned. When this condition dragged on for 2 weeks, I decided to consult a doctor. I did a gastroscopy and found Helicobacter Pilori. It was cured with antibiotics as prescribed by a doctor.
But the symptoms did not go away, nausea also remained a constant symptom, but at least the vomiting went away. I thought it wasn't just the stomach. Having visited 7 doctors in six months (2 gastroenterologists, 2 neurologists and 3 psychotherapists) I was prescribed a course of antidepressants (I drank amitriptyline 25 mg for six months and then sertraline for six months). As you realized by changing the pills, neither one nor the other helped. I also drank antiemetics - nothing helps. I tried CBT with one therapist - a small dynamic began, but it was extremely small and did not lead to recovery.
What's the situation now: I've been sitting at home for 2 years, and when I go out or think that I need to go somewhere, I start to feel very sick. And when I say "very", it means that I'm about to throw up. But the most interesting thing is that it doesn't throw up. I have a great fear of throwing up on the street/in the subway/in public, which makes my nausea worse. My limit in 2 years is a trip to my relatives in 1 hour on public transport - and this road was hell.
Unfortunately, I have not found similar stories on the Internet, and accordingly, neither the Internet nor doctors (which is even more disappointing and frightening) couldn't help me deal with my condition.
Please ask questions, and I will try to respond promptly. And really, tell me if anyone has had this and what to do about it, or am I some kind of "patient zero". Thank you in advance!
