I’ve been playing the game since its release and have completed it twice. I still go back and forth between playing DDS1 and this game from time to time. I have a few suggestions of my own—hopefully you’ll agree with some of them.
- The rental property system in the game could be improved with a small adjustment.
For locations that require a one-time payment with no recurring cost, players should be encouraged to evaluate profit and loss and abandon them if necessary. The price for this particular hotel could be more user-friendly, but in later stages of the game, renting locations should require more careful consideration.
- Locations that are used for a long time should be subject to police raids. During these raids, the police should confiscate all illegal items. This would make it important where we store our money and could force players to start from scratch.
- Earning money should be made more difficult. This idea might not be popular, but at the very least, a “hard” mode could be introduced for players who want a more challenging experience.
- The casino generates income at an unrealistically high rate, which quickly removes any sense of purpose from the game.
- The map may not be large enough for this, but instead of simply escaping the police by climbing onto a roof and waiting, an alternative mechanic could be considered.
- In the early stages, when players produce items themselves, the quality of the products could depend on their actions and how accurately they perform animations, introducing a skill-based crafting element.
- Going to prison should have much more severe consequences.
- If players are caught by the police in a vehicle, it could be an interesting detail if that vehicle later triggers an automatic alert when spotted again by the police.
- To prevent reliance on blueprints, each purchased property could be procedurally randomized in layout, encouraging players to think and adapt.
