I finished reading PR + appendices. Today is day one of Civil and I am struggling. Reading this material is so different than reading PR. I’m so slow and unmotivated and it’s just a bad day. I’m also thinking there is so much here how the heck will I remember this

Hey guys, I’m reading PR right now and I’m finding an inconsistency can someone please explain ? On page 41 it says that the Rules permit a lawyer to provide short-term legal services to a client without taking steps to determine whether there is a conflict of interest arising. Basically because it would be difficult to do so and so it is not required. The only exception is when the lawyer has actual knowledge of the conflict or when the client requests utilizing resources of the firm which means they become a client and thus need a conflicts check.
Page 45 now says that lawyers who provide legal services to clients through a civil society organization must establish a system to identify conflicts of interest…
From my understanding a CSO is considered part of the short term legal services/pro bono section. So I don’t get why these two pages are conflicting.
Let me know if there’s something I missed please !
