Hey neighbors, hoping someone can help me figure this out because it's been on my mind for a while.
For the past few months, I've been noticing the same car parked in the neighborhood, not every day, but I've spotted it maybe 4-5 times now. It's a Ford Explorer, completely blacked out, with what looks like a push bumper/brush guard on the front (the kind you typically see on police vehicles). The windows are so heavily tinted that I genuinely cannot see anything inside, and I've never been able to tell if anyone is even in the car. It's always off when I spot it.
The push bumper and the overall setup make me think it could be some kind of law enforcement or federal vehicle, but then again, it has no visible lights, no markings, and doesn't look like a standard marked police cruiser. That's what's throwing me off.
A few questions for the community:
Could this be an unmarked law enforcement or federal vehicle? If so, is it normal for them to just sit parked like that with no activity?
If it's NOT a cop car, can civilians even legally own a vehicle set up like this in Texas? (Push bumper + heavy tint?)
Has anyone else in the area noticed something similar?
Not trying to be paranoid, it just stands out every time I see it. Any insight appreciated!
I’ve put together a decent collection of Cooper’s cards, but there aren’t many parallels and none are numbered. He just won Rookie of the Year, so I’m wondering if now is the right time to make a move. Should I sell while the hype is high, or would it be worth bulk grading them to potentially boost their value? Any insights appreciated!
Hey everyone, hoping to get some insight before I take this to a shop.
My AC has been slowly dying on me and I'm trying to figure out what's going on before I get quoted something crazy. Here's what I'm experiencing:
Airflow issues: One vent blows fine but the other two are noticeably weak. Not sure if that points to a blend door, blower motor, or something else entirely.
Cooling issues: The AC has completely stopped cooling at this point — it's blowing straight room temperature air. It started gradual but now it's basically useless.
Engine / compressor noise: The engine gets noticeably louder when the AC is on, and I can visibly see it struggling (RPMs change when I shut the AC off). The compressor was already making some noise even when the AC was semi-working, so I don't think this is brand new — but it's gotten worse.
My guesses so far:
- Low refrigerant / leak?
- Failing or seized AC compressor?
- Blend door actuator for the uneven airflow?
- Clogged cabin air filter?
Has anyone dealt with something similar on a Civic? Is this something I can partially DIY or should I just take it straight to a shop? Any help is appreciated 🙏
