Steam updates game to wrong disk then transfers to game location??

NOTE: i have the steam installed on my operating system drive (C:) , and then i have 2 more drives that i have steam install games to depending on my preference ( disk F and disk G)

  • My issue explained below:
  • Steam is installed on the C: drive (main win10 drive)
  • I have a 10GB update for a game installed on my M.2 drive (F:
  • For some reason when downloading the update, steam uses disk G to download the update, then towards the end of the download (95%) it starts to use the F drive where the game is actually installed to update the game...
  • I confirmed this by checking the resource monitor.
  • I have available space on all drives to cover the update size.
  • My main issue is that steam is using my HDD (G:) then my M.2 (F:) drive which makes my installation process 3x slower.
