[The Thread] Seems the gay jungle people are back...
[The Help Wanted Thread] [Seeking Moderator to Help...
](https://www.reddit.com/r/Philippines_Expats/comments/1shleqb/help_wanted_seeking_moderator_to_help_with/)The Context If you aren't familiar with the "Passport Bro" ecosystem, I give you r/Philippines_Expats. It is a community that oscillates between "How do I renew my SRRV visa?" and "Why does my 19 year old girlfriend’s family keep asking me for a water pump?" It is a place where men move to escape "Western decadence" only to realize that the Philippines has its own complex social fabric. Now, the head mod is currently trying to set that fabric on fire.
The "State of the Sub" Meltdown The head mod recently returned from a "business hiatus" (more on that in a second). He decided the sub had become too inclusive in his absence. He posted a "State of the Sub" update that reads like a leaked telegram from a colonial era plantation owner:
"Seems the gay jungle people are back... I turn my back for a couple weeks to tend to my business to feed my family and what do I see? Filipino gay savages soliciting again. Listen, there's no hairy man butt at the end of the rainbow here."
The mod is banning people and framing the mere existence of LGBTQ+ Filipinos as "solicitation" and "savagery" while positioning himself as the thin, khaki line protecting the sub from "moral decay."
The "No Gays Allowed" HR Policy The madness did not start there. In a recent "Help Wanted" thread, it was revealed that the sub’s vetting process for new moderators is less about "community management" and more about "ideological purity." To be a mod, you must meet three strict criteria. One of those is an explicit confirmation that you are opposed to same sex marriage. One user in the thread realized the catch and called it out:
"I clicked the application out of curiosity. Am I trippin, or does one of the only 3 questions seem to want to confirm that you're against same sex marriage? I'm str8… but this just seems like an odd position to want to confirm to decide who you want to mod this sub."
The mod's defense? He is looking for people with the "same moral values" to keep the sub from becoming a "liberal wasteland."
The "Vibe Coded" AI Grift So, what was that "business" the mod was tending to? It turns out he has been moonlighting as a tech entrepreneur for the Passport Bro demographic. He has been guerilla plugging his new app within now deleted "tips and tricks" posts. It is an AI powered tool designed to "vet" potential Filipina wives.
The app supposedly scans dating sites to make sure your "traditional" Filipina is not actually "on the hustle" or talking to other men. It is essentially a "loyalty tracker" for men who are terrified that their 18 year old fiancée might not be in it solely for their charming personality.
The Ban Hammer Massacre The comment sections have become a digital graveyard. The mod is currently on a power trip, perma banning anyone who calls his "Gay Jungle People" comments bigoted, points out that his AI app is "vibe coded" levels of creepy, or suggests that an expat should not refer to the citizens of his host country as "savages."
