Faint spotting and streaks after rain and tree sap 10 days after graphene coating
Hey everyone,
I could use some advice.
My car was treated with an Artdeshine graphene coating about 9 days ago. On day 3 after application, it got caught in the rain and also had some tree debris fall onto it.
I tried to remove everything as gently as possible.
Today (day 10 after application), I did the first proper wash using a pH-neutral shampoo. During the wash, I noticed a slightly streaky / faintly spotted area on the hood. It’s only visible from a very specific angle, otherwise it’s barely noticeable. The surface still feels smooth, maybe just slightly rough in that spot.
I’ve already tried a few things:
- pH-neutral shampoo wash
- Letting it sit in moderate sunlight for a few hours
So far, nothing has really changed. The beading in that area still looks the same as the rest of the hood.
My detailer also mentioned that in some cases using a heat gun at low settings can help, but I haven’t tried that yet because I’m not sure if it’s appropriate this early after application.
To me it looks like either water spotting or something from the trees, but I’m not sure if I should just wait it out since the coating is still very fresh, or if I should already try a dedicated water spot remover or another approach.
Has anyone experienced something similar this shortly after a fresh graphene/coating application?
What would you recommend I do next?
