Finally ended my run.
Didn’t manage to restore the full roman empire, but did manage to become the most powerful force in the Mediterranean.
My takes and tips:
At the end of the run I started getting the hegemonies. To get them was surprisingly hard.
Learned to late about the importance of encouraging naval values as I didn’t get to have naval governors and that would have been a game changer since I couldn’t integrate my Italian vassals in time.
Went through several patches in this run. Happy to see the most recent update, seems like things are turning on the right direction.
Trade buildings go brrrrr - one of the best investments. Bailiffs also go far.
Not a fan of the heavy urbanization ai has but cities are the only way to get research/ universities. Research is a pain and even when I invested everything into education, research is painfully slow, or else I don’t what I am doing wrong.

Wish I had known about the disloyalty associated with the age of revolutions - as I would have worked much harder to integrate vassals.
