What are some recommendations to get back into fitness post-baby?

Hello everyone 👋 this is a bit of a specific ask and wondered if anyone had any experience. I gave up my regular gym membership during pregnancy because strenuous exercise was off limits, but now in the post-baby phase I can start think about building up my strength and fitness again.

would going back to my old routines but with lighter weights, less frequency, or just shorter workouts be a good start? And I’d also like to know if anyone has any light cardio recommendations, as in not ready to get back into running just yet. Thank you!

Without going into too much gory detail, we welcomed our first baby to the world recently and because of the surgical interventions required we are under doctor’s orders to avoid making love for at least another few weeks. Add that to the fact we weren’t intimate at all for the last month or so of pregnancy because I was super uncomfortable, it’s been a really hard stretch without that closeness.

There’s not really a solution other than patience because we need to be careful that everything is healed, but I miss the closeness and connection that we’d get from being together. We still cuddle and spend lots of time together but there’s just that one thing missing

Just wanted to have a little vent for my own sanity.
