My experience with food post-op for those that are worried. Every body is different ,small meals and trial and error is the best. I was diagnosed with gallstones during my third trimester of pregnancy. Flare ups were horrible and did not get better after I delivered baby. Went on a low fat diet from Nov 2025-April 2026. I have deprived myself of so many foods having my gallbladder removed was my only hope to return to “normal diet”. I have had success so far.

24hrs i ate bland diet, jello, broth, applesauce, coconut water.

48 hrs introduced boiled eggs,plain grilled chicken and steamed veggies

72 hours introduced oatmeal and low fat milk

I had 3 chocolate chip cookies day 2 and no side effects

introduced coffee 4oz on day 4 . No side effects. I made sure to have something in my stomach first before introducing coffee.

Foods that have given me side effects; tomato soup

Now for those craving their favorite fast food (Mine is Pizza) here is my journey so far ;

Day 9 had a McDonalds sausage and egg sandwich NO CHEESE and did great no side effects

Pizza: TBD I think I want to wait a month before trying it out
