In the Fire
The flames leap high, a hungry, molten sea,
And in their heat, I plead for you to seek.
Before the brightest parts of me flee,
And turn to ash, where shadows softly speak.
My passion burns, a flicker and a spark,
A fragile light against the coming night.
Don't let it fade, lost in the growing dark,
But hold me close, and make my spirit bright.
For in this fire, where courage takes its stand,
My truest self begins to take its form.
Reach out your hand, and help me understand,
To weather this, and rise above the storm.
So find me now, while embers still remain,
Before the best of me is lost in pain.
